Weather Dock Works 50% of the time
Published on May 25, 2010 By Sidetone In Stardock Support General

I am running Windows 7 Ultimate now with a fresh install. I was using Windows Vista Ultimate. I am having the same problem on both installs. The weather docklet only works about 50% of the time. I cannot isolate the problem,I do a fresh installs with the most current downloads but this does not fix the problem...

Any bright ideas other than repeating doing the same thing over and over again.

Which version of ObjectDock are you using, v1.90 or v2.0? Also, is this the free or the plus version? If using v1.90, try following this link in Internet Explorer (Firefox and other browsers do no handle the file type correctly):

32 bit: http://sd.stardock.com/mike/apps/install_weather.bat
64 bit: http://sd.stardock.com/mike/apps/install_weather_64.bat

save the file and run it from your machine (right click and run as administrator for Vista) and follow it's instructions.  This should resolve the issue.

I am running Vista 32 bit and I cannot get the docklet to work at all.  Is there something else that could be interfering with this program?  It works on all my other systems but not this one.  I have a new computer and just formatted so there should be no problem installing.  I am using the 1.9 version.

If the install_weather.bat didn't work, please try adding exceptions for ObjectDock and the weather docklet in your security software.

Dewie,

I did what you said in Reply1  win 7 64bit  OD 1.9

I put the Weather dock on my zoomer click on (NOTE  the name is XML Weather Docklet) Configure Type in my Zip and it crashes OD

and tells me it can't find ObjectDock.exe   and it is not their ..

oh and part 2 of the link I saved it then ran as Admen.  in the cmd  it told me to put StardockWeather.ocx  in both places

C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Stardock

AND

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Stardock

but there was no stardock folder in C:\Program Files\Common Files  so I made one and placed it there..
